Just to keep people in the loop. SCSK have applied for a Sunday Morning Market on the car park opposite Albert’s Place.

Hoping to help small local businesses build up after the pandemic and create a place buzzing with character, a mini Camden on our doorstep.

Would you be so kind to give a bit of market research - popping a message in the thread if you would visit?

Travelodge over the road literally, maybe bring in weekend tourism ? The site has everything, car parks, really close to all transport links. It's perfect.

Already consulted Sunderland Bid and a Councillor who have given full support of the market.

All important to give figures etc to application already applied.

Our pop up cake event last Saturday was to trial this concept and was a huge success. We had a continual flow of customers sometimes with a queue for the full 4 hours and £650 proceeds raised thanks to our wonderful supporters x

So if the stall holders can stay local rather than having to travel to Tynemouth, Alnwick and Lanchester as the ones we know do now... hoping to our our city on the map, a buzzing Sunday morning place to visit and support local business people x
